Restore. Preserve. Enhance.
Perfectly positioned between the Cities of Baker and Central in the unincorporated northern part of East Baton Rouge Parish, Cohn Arboretum brings together people and plants of all colors, shapes, and sizes and provides a space for unity, peace, and healing in our community.
To restore, BREC is working to complete improvements to Cohn Arboretum and construction should finish by the spring of 2022. To preserve, FOCA will pursue a nomination to the National Register of Historic Places but will need professional and financial aid for success. To enhance, we hold onto hope that we will one day grow a garden to feed a village at a future farm-to-table cafe!
In partnership with BREC, Friends of Cohn Arboretum (FOCA) organizes yoga classes, "Wake & Walk" meetups, Art & Wine events, and signature celebrations. We aim to create a comfortable space where people of all ages and abilities can meditate, create, play, engage in meaningful dialogue, or simply be. Contact us if you'd like to get involved or have suggestions!
